Introduction

Policy

Ragging has ruined countless innocent lives and careers. In order to eradicate it, Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 887 of 2009, passed the judgement wherein guidelines were issued for setting up of a Central Crisis Hotline and Anti-Ragging database.

Objectives

  • To create Awareness among the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  • To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.

Standard Operating Procedure

  • Educate and create awareness among the students about the ill effects of ragging.
  • Cell members Inform students about their rights against anti ragging activities.
  • A box has been placed outside the library which will remain in the custody of the Principal and cell members.
  • Any complaint regarding ragging should be put into this black box with details and without delay.
  • Care should be taken to mention only the absolute truth.
  • The identity of the student who complains will be kept confidential.
  • Cell give punishment to those involved in ragging as per the orders laid down by the Supreme Court of India and Maharashtra prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999.

Action Plan and Action Taken

  • The cell’s responsibility is to ensure that students maintain discipline in the classrooms and within the college campus.
  • Members of the cell regularly go on rounds to teach and every classroom to make note of delinquent Behaviour and to make sure that the College campus is free from ragging and Eve-teasing.
  • The cell takes severe punitive action against students indulging in such atrocious activities.
  • Thus, Ragging in any form is banned inside and outside the campus.
