The department admits 120 students each to the B. Sc I, II & III year classes. It offers elective paper to the B. Sc III year students. 04 scholars are engaged in doctoral research at the moment under able guidance of Dr. Salve U. S. head department of botany. The Department of Botany offers graduate teaching and Ph. D. Programme. Botanists, biologist, academicians, professor, chairman bos, faculty dean biologists from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad under various programs has visited to the department. Dr. U. S. Salve has got honorary fellowship F.S.L.Sc. of Science and technology international journal. The departments Research section is responsible for nurturing research in the college, research coordination & management. We also help in preparation and submission of research projects for the various funding agencies, encouraging faculties, students to undertake research work, etc.
The botanic garden forms an important part of the department covering an area about 5000 sq feet. The garden has a unique collection of 240 species brought and cultivated from the surrounding region. It includes a collection of medicinally important species, flowering plants, ornamental plants, timber and wood yielding plants, fruit yielding plants etc. It is useful for teaching, practical and for research.
